Résumé du projet
Connecting Northeast Iowa and Southwest Wisconsin, the nearly 100-year-old Black Hawk Bridge in Lansing is being reconstructed to adequately accommodate 21st century traffic flow. Maintaining its aesthetic structural steel truss while modernizing the bridge capacity and safety, the new 1,724-foot structure represents the only Mississippi River crossing within 30 miles. Foth is delivering the project as the first comprehensive digital bridge design for the State of Iowa. To meet their digital deliverables, they needed a comprehensive, integrated technology solution.
Leveraging Bentley Open applications and the Bentley iTwin platform, Foth established a 3D model and single source of truth that could be used from initial conceptual design throughout construction and lifecycle management. Working in a connected, cloud-based environment with the digital model streamlined design, estimated to reduce the project schedule by 1.5 months and save USD 3.2 million in total costs. The model will facilitate future maintenance, team safety, and overall sustainability.
