Prosman+ is a governmental project aiming to relocate more than 2,400 families in high-risk areas in Manaus, Amazonas, providing safe housing, basic infrastructure, and new public spaces. Spanning 340,000 square meters, it will benefit more than 60,000 people and reduce flooding, disease, and inequality. Comprised of architectural, sanitation, and hydraulic works being executed among 35 professionals across four states, the urban planning project presented coordination and site challenges. Previous 2D methods proved ineffective, requiring the team to find an integrated, collaborative 3D BIM solution.
Leveraging Bentley ProjectWise and Bentley Open modeling and construction simulation applications, the team established a connected data environment and 3D models, streamlining workflows, facilitating clash detection, and enabling precise coordination according to the planned schedule. The integrated digital solution saved 62% in time and an estimated USD 7 million in costs, while reducing the project’s carbon footprint. Incorporating advanced BIM technologies, the project ensures efficiency, precision, and sustainability in urban planning and management.
