Dar International for Engineering Consultancy led detailed engineering design for the Nariyah 380kV Evacuation Substation, a complex project designed to withstand a harsh desert environment and improve the resilience of the national grid. The project integrates approximately 18 MW of IPP-generated power. Through innovative cross-border collaboration, the team moved from fragmented 2D drafting into a data-centric 3D environment, coordinating electrical, civil, mechanical, protection, transmission line, and study disciplines across dispersed stakeholders.
Using Bentley Open applications, DAR built a connected digital delivery workflow that resulted in a 30% reduction in coordination time, cut rework by 20% to 25%, as well as avoided 3 to 4 weeks of delay. The coordinated model also supported asset management, reduced cable lengths by 10%, and reduced paper consumption by over 70%.
