iTwin Capture, iTwin Experience
To ensure continued operational capacity of Holyhead Deepwater Jetty and support regional economic growth, Haskoning was engaged to assess and identify any defects in the jetty and provide a report to the client outlining necessary remediation works. Faced with constraints performing on-site inspections at the jetty’s remote and exposed location, they wanted to implement a digital capture modeling approach to assess the structure. Initial technology solutions lacked the level of detail to provide a clear understanding of the jetty’s condition.
Haskoning ultimately selected Bentley iTwin Capture to capture 35,000 high resolution photographs and process them into an accurate 3D mesh model. They then uploaded the model to iTwin Experience, enabling real-time accessibility and valuable condition insight for stakeholders and the client. Bentley’s reality modeling and digital twin technology optimized identification and location of structural defects and streamlined inspection, reporting, and decision-making. Compared to traditional manual inspections, the remote digital inspection solution enhanced collaboration, saved 60% in time, and reduced both costs and carbon emissions.
