Breakthrough use of technology to connect fragmented engineering, asset, and operational data across lifecycle phases in a shared digital environment, with measurable improvements in collaboration, decision speed, delivery, or asset performance.

Project summary

Infrastructure project teams often work across fragmented tools, making it difficult to gain a unified view of project data and connect insights across the lifecycle. While digital models contain rich project intelligence, accessing that information often requires specialized technical and BIM expertise, limiting the value of digital twins for non-technical stakeholders. WSP Global Inc.’s Digital Engineering & Technology team in Bangalore addressed this gap, making project information accessible to more people without software installation or query language skills.

WSP built a browser interface on the iTwin platform that converts plain-English questions into live iModel queries. Its 17-capability workflow spans design, construction, and operations across road, bridge, building, and water projects without reconfiguration. Validation against a DGN test iModel road corridor reduced extraction time by 75%, while a USD 8.7 million estimate across five pay types returned in under 10 seconds. The test also generated a 16.6 metric ton embodied carbon report and a 97.8% model quality score, turning hours of extraction into seconds of insight.
