Project summary

Almondz Global built NAKSHA to give Gujarat cities a reliable geospatial foundation, mapping Nadiad, Navsari, and Anand across more than 318 square kilometers. The project required coordinating aerial acquisition, point-cloud scanning, photogrammetry, three-dimensional modeling, quality control, and delivery while navigating dense urban conditions, restricted flight zones, monsoon weather windows, and more than 100 terabytes of mixed-sensor data. Earlier tools lacked the city-scale automation and interoperability needed to process and maintain consistent datasets efficiently across multiple cities, resulting in slower workflows and correction-intensive production.

Using Bentley Descartes, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, iTwin, and MicroStation, the team integrated imagery and scanned point clouds, ground control, and photogrammetry into a unified three-dimensional city digital twin. iTwin reduced mesh reconstruction time by 40% compared to earlier trials, saving nearly 1,800 work hours across the cities, while MicroStation reduced manual editing by 30%. The resulting datasets support property assessment, flood modeling, utility planning, and more resilient urban governance.
