Leapfrog, OpenGround, Seequent Central
This tunneling project will create a high-capacity underground rail corridor between Prague and western Bohemia while easing pressure on the constrained Berounka River valley. Mott MacDonald is leading the project’s subsurface work, which included interpreting faulted rock masses, karstified zones, and variable groundwater conditions while managing more than 100 deep boreholes and historical geological data within one coherent model.
Using OpenGround Cloud, Leapfrog Works, Seequent Central, and linked Power BI dashboards, Mott MacDonald built a connected workflow that tied geological interpretation to geotechnical investigation data and live analytics. That approach reduced the geological model development cycle by 35 to 40 calendar days and shortened internal review cycles by an estimated 60% to 70%. It also improved confidence in excavation, support, and groundwater decisions for a nationally important tunnel program.
