Project summary

The Praha–Beroun Tunnel is a multinational underground rail program connecting Prague with Plzeň, Germany. SUDOP PRAHA is helping to design and coordinate two approximately 25-kilometer single-track tunnel tubes, about 60 kilometers of underground excavation, and associated tunnel systems. The team had to align 55 disciplines, 115 participants, and 52 investor-side reviewers while managing complex geology, evacuation planning, and rescue-access requirements.

Using a Bentley-enabled federated digital environment, SUDOP PRAHA coordinated 20,000 documents and 60 gigabytes of data, identified over 100 design issues early, and produced a 6% efficiency gain. The work supports safer review, operations throughout the tunnels’ lifecycle, and more resilient rail operations with less impact on the surface environment.
