Project summary
To help transport planning teams design and deliver micromobility solutions for pedestrians, cyclists, and scooters, Abu Dhabi Micromobility (ADM) engaged citiME to adapt their existing strategic transport model to incorporate shorter trips using softer transport modes. The project required disaggregating larger transport zones, developing an application to automate creation of a sub-model for local areas, and enhancing route choice methodology to better represent micromobility trips.
Leveraging the advanced modeling and scenario comparison features of Bentley OpenPaths, citiME created a new network model that includes specific links for bikes, scooters, and walking. Bentley technology automated workflows and improved modeling accuracy and efficiency, enabling citiME to meet their deliverables for ADM on time and within budget. Using the new model, ADM can visualize in detail very short soft transport trips and test the outcomes of implementing new micromobility infrastructure and policies, enhancing planning and decision-making for softer, sustainable transport.
