iTwin, OpenFlows, ProjectWise
Evides N.V. operates a 14,000-kilometer water distribution network serving approximately 2.5 million people. The utility needed to improve emergency response and reduce non-revenue water (NRW), but disconnected operational, asset, and customer data limited access to trusted hydraulic information during pipe bursts, severe leaks, and other network incidents.
Using iTwin, ProjectWise, OpenFlows Water, and OpenFlows WaterSight, Evides created two operations-grade digital twins that provide real-time visibility across its entire water distribution network. By integrating operational, asset, and customer information into a single source of truth, the digital twins support real-time monitoring, leak geolocation, demand forecasting, hydraulic analysis, and emergency response. The workflow reduced emergency response time by 60%, cut operational incident response times by 50%, reduced burst-induced NRW by 50%, and lowered total NRW by 9%, saving 42,000 cubic meters of water and EUR 100,000 annually. The digital twins help Evides improve operational resilience while protecting reliable water service for the communities it serves.
