Frequently asked questions

Yes. The Going Digital Awards were renamed the YII Awards. Digital innovation is still at the heart of the program, but the new name better reflects what the awards truly representthe extraordinary use of technology to deliver real-world impact.

After the projects are submitted, they are reviewed by an independent panel of jurors, using criteria specific to each category and according to these standards:

  • Provided quantitative, measurable, numeric data (where applicable).
  • Exhibited a sustainable way forward, both economically and environmentally.
  • Demonstrated innovative use of technology to meet project goals.
  • Connected disciplines and data to deliver stronger outcomes.

Three finalists are chosen in each of the 12 categories and invited to present their projects at the event before the juries and key members of the industry’s most influential press. The jurors will then make a final decision on the winners of each category, who will be announced at a gala celebration on the final day of the Year in Infrastructure Awards.

Submissions open in Q1 each year and remain open for several weeks. Check back in late January for exact dates.

Plan to spend several days preparing your submission. While the form itself may not take long to fill out, gathering the right project details, visuals, and supporting materials usually takes more time.

The jury needs enough context to evaluate your project fairly, so the strongest entries are prepared carefully. Give yourself time to collect the right information, review your answers, and choose the visuals that best support your story.

Yes. Submissions may be completed in any of these 10 languages: Chinese, Czech, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Polish, and Portuguese. You can choose your preferred language when you register on the submission site.

No. Each project may only be submitted in one category. You may, however, submit multiple different projects, whether in the same category or across different categories.
