The project turned a former acid regeneration plant in Wuhan into a 72-hectare public destination, while also delivering twelve near-zero carbon smart manufacturing demonstration steel production lines. Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group led a program that had to manage severe soil contamination, frequent plan changes, and the coordination demands of managing both public and industrial elements.
Using Bentley applications, the team created a high-precision reality model, enabled multidiscipline collaboration, and established a model-driven quantity surveying and cost estimation workflow. That approach helped reduce the acid regeneration treatment area by 7.9%, lower steel consumption by 6.5%, and save 1,447 design hours. The result was a more controlled delivery process that supported brownfield remediation, smart manufacturing, and the creation of a national 4A-level tourist attraction for the city.
